What You’ll Do - Lead Strategic Content: Drive the strategic vision and provide hands-on leadership for a 24/7 live newsroom. You will direct all aspects of content creation and production on broadcast, digital, and social media platforms, including our growing FOX Local and YouTube channels.
- Innovate and Inspire: Design and implement groundbreaking show formats and distinctive content strategies for all program time periods – from morning to evening, sports to politics.
- Branding and Consumers: Safeguard and strengthen brand across all platforms. Utilize analytics to understand consumer preferences and trends.
- Cultivate a Winning Team: Lead, mentor, and inspire our team of news professionals. Your passion for talent development will be key as you handle recruiting, training, performance evaluations, and oversight to foster a high-performing, collaborative culture.
- Forge Powerful Relationships: Partner with the VP of News/Content to develop and execute strategies that fuel audience growth. You will serve as our primary liaison with Fox News Channel and other Fox entities.
- Maintain Operational Excellence: Work closely with our legal team on any news coverage issues and coordinate with helicopter partners to ensure seamless, top-tier reporting.
The Ideal Candidate - Experience: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in a large television market, with a clear track record of success and progressive responsibility. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a newsroom/media environment.

Additional DetailsFOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 operation. This high-impact role requires flexibility to work varied hours including overtime, early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, and in the case of breaking news. Must be able to travel as needed and hold a clean motor vehicle record.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $150,000.00-220,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
