Objective

Thank you for considering my application,

Since graduating from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, I have spent the past 13 years working as a multimedia journalist and television news anchor. My career has taken me across the country—from New York City and Connecticut to Montana, Wisconsin, Colorado, and most recently, back home to California. Throughout these diverse experiences, I have honed a broad skill set that includes writing, videography, social media strategy, public speaking, and community engagement.

A cornerstone of my professional approach is building trust and meaningful relationships within the communities I serve. For example, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, I was honored to moderate the city’s first town hall following the George Floyd protests. I facilitated a live Q&A on Facebook, allowing residents to ask local law enforcement questions directly—an experience that underscored the importance of transparency and active listening.

My commitment to service extends beyond journalism. In Colorado, I was invited as an honored guest at the Colorado Beautillion-Cotillion, where I shared career advice with Black youth preparing for college. I’ve served as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters, continue to support my 14-year-old mentee in Wisconsin, and have worked as both a short- and long-term substitute teacher and paraprofessional in Montana and Wisconsin. As a mandated reporter and community leader, I take seriously the responsibility of being a trusted advocate for youth and marginalized voices.

Currently, I am a multimedia journalist for KRON4-TV in the San Francisco Bay Area and an Emmy Award-winning contributor to the Rocky Mountain PBS documentary Uncovering Dearfield. At KRON4, I’ve led special projects highlighting stories during Black History Month, LGBTQ+ Pride, and Hispanic Heritage Month—efforts that reflect my dedication to amplifying underrepresented voices. Whether reporting on the unhoused, people with disabilities, or communities that often go unheard, I strive to tell stories that matter.

I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my experience and passion align with your organization’s goals.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
Lindsey A. Ford
