Position: Executive Radio/Audio Producer (Full Time)
Reports to: Director of Operations, News Director, Executive Editor

About Us + Role:
Heartland Signal seeks a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as an Executive
Radio/Audio Producer. A critical member of the programming team, the Executive Radio/Audio
Producer will oversee the seamless integration of news items produced by the digital team,
guests, and structured segments into our radio shows. This position requires strong editorial
judgment and knowledge of politics, excellent communication skills, and a passion for engaging
audiences through compelling radio content.
Responsibilities:
● Collaborate with reporters, editors, and hosts to identify and prioritize news items, topics,
and guests for inclusion in radio shows and segments.
● Coordinate the booking of guests, scheduling of fill-in hosts, and planning of show
content to ensure smooth execution and adherence to newsroom objectives.
● Work closely with hosts and production staff to develop show rundowns, segment ideas,
and interview questions that align with audience interests and station priorities.
● Edit and produce audio content for broadcast, including interviews, segments, and
promotional spots, using industry-standard editing software and equipment.
● Integrate radio audio content with online platforms, including website, podcasting
platforms, and social media channels, to maximize audience reach and engagement.
● Collaborate with the audience development team to implement strategies for engaging
listeners, growing audience, and fostering community interaction.
● Monitor audience feedback, ratings, and market trends to identify opportunities for
content improvement, audience expansion, and program innovation.
● Provide guidance and support to production staff, interns, and contributors involved in
radio programming and content production.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
● Strong background in journalism, communications, radio broadcasting, or related field.
● Proven experience in radio production, program management, or related roles, with a
strong understanding of radio industry standards and practices.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple
projects and priorities simultaneously.
● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
● Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition) and familiarity with radio
production equipment and techniques.
● Demonstrated ability to think creatively, solve problems, and adapt to changing
circumstances in a fast-paced media environment.
● Passion for radio broadcasting and commitment to delivering high-quality, informative,
and entertaining content to our audience.
