Our Client, Yahoo, is looking for a Broadcast Engineer in New York City!
Job Overview: As a Yahoo Studios Broadcast Engineer, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of broadcast equipment and systems to ensure uninterrupted transmission of audio and video content. You will work closely with production teams to facilitate live broadcasts and ensure high-quality output. This role is a freelance position.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Installation and Maintenance:
Install, configure, and maintain broadcast equipment, including cameras, microphones, audio mixers, video switchers, routers, servers, and transmission equipment.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, calibration, and software updates to ensure optimal performance.
Broadcast System Integration:
Integrate new equipment and systems into existing broadcast infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and seamless operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to signal flow, connectivity, and hardware/software conflicts.
Signal Monitoring and Quality Control:
Monitor broadcast signals to ensure compliance with technical standards.
Emergency Response and Troubleshooting:
Respond promptly to technical problems and outages, diagnosing issues and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
Technical Support and Training:
Provide technical support to production teams and on-air talent during live broadcasts, troubleshooting issues and offering guidance as needed.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience as a Broadcast Engineer in a television environment or similar.
Proficiency with broadcast equipment and systems, including familiarity with industry standards and protocols.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external vendors.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices for broadcast operations.
Must be able to support live content M-F 8am - 5pm with the possibility of late night night/weekend work.
