Podcast Producer

Job Description

Recount Media is looking for a seasoned Podcast Producer who's proficient in ProTools, great at story editing, skilled at handling talent, and, most importantly, a political junkie. Reporting to the EP, the producer will produce and edit a weekly interview show about national politics. They will also manage an assistant producer/researcher two days a week.

Responsibilities

• Find creative ways to improve the format and elevate the series
• Constantly evolve and improve process in collaboration with EP
• Pitch guests for each episode.
• Manage an Assistant Producer's time & research 2 days a week and oversee creation of outline & research for each episode
• Produce interviews
• Edit podcast
• Ensure talent is supported

Job Requirements

• 5+ years in journalism
• ​Deep understanding of national politics
• Professional proficiency in ProTools
• Excellent story editing skills
• Exceptional project management skills, with a proven record of achieving goals and objectives and problem solving solutions
• Experience working with high profile talent a bonus
