Job Description

CNHI is searching for an editor and General Manager to oversee its newsroom and operations at The Gainesville Register in Gainesville, Texas. The editor is responsible for news and opinion content for our print and digital platforms, magazine and other niche publications. As General Manger in this combined role, the right candidate will oversee day to day operations at the community newspaper. 

Applicants need a collaborative management style, a strong sense of professionalism and general business knowledge, a passion for local news, strong editing and writing skills, and the ability to drive significant enterprise journalism. We also require proven ability to communicate clearly; organize time and plan efficiently; set high standards, and motivate the staff to produce journalism readers want, need and value.

The editor directs the newsroom and is a key member of the senior management teams with a strong voice in strategic initiatives to engage audience and drive results.

Gainesville is about 70 miles north of Dallas and is the county seat of Cooke County with a population of approximately 16,000. It is home to North Central Texas College.
