Job Description

The Arizona Republic/azcentral.com, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is looking for a strategic, innovative coach to lead coverage of local issues through the lenses of equity, accountability and potential solutions. 
In this job, you would direct a team of reporters who focus on topics where social disparities come into play. The team includes reporters working on a grant-funded effort to cover housing insecurity in Arizona and and reporters who have schools, consumer protection and solutions journalism beats.

Job Requirements

• Lead your team in developing exclusive enterprise and investigations that prompt action and improve community life.
• Coach reporters in sophisticated storytelling techniques for digital platforms and print.
• Use analytics and other tools to shape coverage that continuously grows the digital audience and drives subscriptions.
• Act as a public ambassador through community outreach and connect with readers through social media.
• Recruit and nurture a diverse, skilled staff and elevate their skills through coaching and training.
