The Opportunity
Everyday Health is seeking a senior associate editor with a passion for empowering and inspiring people to live their healthiest lives every day. As a member of EverydayHealth.com’s editorial team, you will play a key role within a dynamic, creative, close-knit department focused on developing health, wellness, and medical content for a consumer audience.
The senior associate editor will support a team of senior editors to produce and promote high-quality health content across a wide scope of topic areas. You will provide a broad range of support responsibilities, including researching keywords to increase organic traffic and audience engagement, optimizing content for SEO, updating existing content, conducting interviews with health experts and patients, identifying opportunities for editorial coverage, and performing a wide range of administrative duties to maintain an efficient production workflow.
Key Responsibilities
Work in our CMS to build articles, optimize content with widgets and updates, and implement new functionalities
Perform keyword research using SEO analytics tools
Assist with regular content audits
Edit, write, repackage, and update content as assigned
Help senior editors assign and edit content
Coordinate production workflow with copy editors, medical reviewers, photo editors, and production editors
Schedule, conduct, and transcribe interviews with experts and patients
Monitor news feeds daily for potential story ideas
Perform administrative duties as required, including onboarding new contributors, processing invoices, backlink outreach, and managing production workflow
Job Qualifications
Able to work collaboratively and effectively with others on the editorial team and with other departments across the company
Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, creative work environment
Smart, energetic, ambitious, and creative, with strong organizational skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
Able to juggle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to new assignments
Minimum two years digital editorial experience
Solid research and interviewing skills
Experience using SEO and analytics tools for keyword research
Experience working in a CMS and in web-based project management tools
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
