Job Description

The College of Education at Oregon State University is seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Dean
The College of Education Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating short and long-range goals and objectives. They communicate with the public and Oregon State, about the college’s programs, research, events, and opportunities. This position is responsible for supporting faculty and staff, engaging with the media, serving as primary contact for media requests and press releases, and coordinating work of media related contractors and student workers. This position works closely with the Dean of the College of Education.
The incumbent serves as a Brand Manager for the College of Education at Oregon State, responsible for producing and presenting print, digital, and social media content with consistent messaging and branding. The incumbent will perform assessment of web site user performance, write, provide photos, design and/or conduct content strategy for the College of Education website and other marketing and recruitment efforts. In addition, they act as liaison with Web and Mobile Services, Ecampus, the Graduate School, and other campus units as needed.
The College of Education contributes to major national dialogues concerning research and the promotion of social justice in (1) the success of English language learners of all ages; (2) developmentally appropriate pedagogy for all ages; (3) learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics inside and outside of school; (4) the preparation of mental health and school counselors; (5) adult and higher education leadership. We develop change agents in the form of formal and informal educators, counselors, and leaders. These change agents identify issues and act towards social justice and the full-development of human potential and society.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, journalism, graphic design, or related field. If degree is in an outside field, candidate must have minimum two years of professional experience in a marketing, communications, or related field.
  • One year experience in media writing or related field.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in field related to discipline of the college
  • Experience working in website design and analytics, such as Drupal 7, Wordpress, Google Analytics, Monsido
  • Experience working with creative software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Mailchimp.
  • Experience with graphic design, photography, web design
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task between multiple projects and deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity & inclusion
  • Experience in event planning
  • Experience in management or supervision
  • Familiarity with AP style
  • Familiarity with working in a brand system
