Reporting to the Executive Producer, the Producer will plan and coordinate the complete range of activities involved in the production of news and current affairs program segments. The incumbent will work in partnership with the editorial team at any and all stages of the production process from story conception through post-production. Specific responsibilities include:
• Daily researching, pitching, and producing stories and guests; • Development of storylines, franchises, and continual/updated research on past segments; • Identification of locations and characters; • Will produce and oversee locational shoots, on location or in studio; • Conducts pre- interviews in support of program; • Works with on-camera talent as required; • Responsible for writing scripts, editing supervision, and delivery of segments; • Shooting and editing video; • Liaise with various other departments, including publicity, production services, finance and legal in support of production needs; • Additional duties, as assigned.
Qualified candidates will have exceptional research skills, written and verbal communication and presentation skills; strong planning, organization, problem analysis, and decision-making skills; strong leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skill; the ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines and to problem solve when difficulties arise. Frequent travel will be required. Additional qualifications include:
• A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in television or multimedia production, at least two (2) of which will have been spent producing news programs; • Experience with INews, Dalet, Avstar or any basic rundown environment; • Proficiency with Premiere editing systems; • Exceptional ability to write scripts and edit video; • BS/BA or equivalent experience.
