Job Description

The CPR Max Wycisk News Fellowship is a year-long paid training in every aspect of public radio journalism - developing story ideas, reporting, writing, producing and editing, for both radio, and the website and social media. CPR will select two fellows who will spend time in different areas of the newsroom - newscast/daily reporting, Colorado Matters, radio feature reporting and digital/social media.

The News Fellows will learn to define, pitch and produce public radio stories; record in a variety of settings; do basic photography, prepare thorough and balanced reports; identify guests for interview topics; provide thorough news research; meet news deadlines; prepare material for our digital and social media platforms; and do some on-air reporting. The News Fellows may also be assisted in connecting to other opportunities in public radio after the fellowship period, whether at CPR News or other stations in the system.

Job Requirements

The successful candidates are college graduates or post-graduates who have journalism experience, including the ability to identify good stories and report thoroughly and accurately.

Colorado residents and/or graduates of a Colorado college or university are preferred, but that is not required.

To apply:

No drop ins or phone calls please.
