ideastream®, Northeast Ohio’s Public Media organization, has an exciting opportunity for a Multiple Media Editor. ideastream is seeking a creative individual with strong editing skills to join our staff.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to create and help supervise the creation of high quality multiple media news content, projects and events as well as manager editorial content and supervise staff, working closely with the News Director and other staff members. Experience creating and distributing multiple media content on web and social media is essential
Qualifications and Experience include:
A bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred
Minimum 5 years of journalism and reporting experience with demonstrated skills in writing, reporting and editing procedures.
Experience in maintaining high journalistic standards including objectivity, balance and fairness.
Knowledge of multiple media production (TV, radio, digital), media production processes/procedures and evolving technologies.
A critical thinker who is superb at independent judgment, decision making and has excellent leadership.
Familiarity with current production management software, digital asset management systems, editing systems, broad range of production equipment, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work with media, university and community partners.
Excellent overall communication and presentation skills, including ability to edit and coach the work of others.
Demonstrated leadership and team building skills. Must be a collaborator, consensus builder, mentor who embraces teamwork.
Demonstrated team leadership and management skills; demonstrated decision-making and delegation skills; demonstrated interpersonal skills especially trust, tact and diplomacy.
Awareness/interest in media convergence and industry standards.
Must have ability to work in a live program environment, poised under pressure.
Familiarity with public media standards and practices
