You’ll facilitate engaging discussions and showcase your personality while providing a fair platform for diverse and opposing viewpoints. You will be a key voice in topic selection, guest booking and production decisions, ensuring that KLCC represents community voices and concerns. The Public Affairs Producer/Host will appear in public as a representative of KLCC, leading live events and interfacing with listeners. With the assistance of KLCC News, this position will be called on to anchor long form, live, breaking news coverage as events demand. You will further KLCC’s commitment to building community relationships and providing a dependable, factual, source of information and discussion for western and central Oregon. This position will produce reports and features for KLCC News, as assigned. The person chosen for this position will be responsible for maintaining KLCC’s high standards of journalistic ethics and personal behavior.
Essential Functions:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Produce & host daily public affairs programming and digital features.
Participate in KLCC editorial process, identifying topics and guests of community interest.
Develop community contacts for topic selection and guest bookings.
Provide creative input to news and programming teams to augment KLCC public service.
Represent KLCC at public events.
Research program content and ensure the highest standards of accuracy are met.
Live on-air hosting and covering breaking news as assigned.

Required Education:Bachelor's degree is required.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate training in the specialties of journalism, broadcasting, multi-media, public policy or related fields.Required Experience:A minimum of three years experience in journalism, debate or public speaking.
