THE JOHN ALEXANDER PROJECT is dedicated to funding the next generation of journalists; to finding untold stories.
Our Above the Fray fellowship enables up-and-coming radio journalists to report international stories for NPR. We have sent fellows to Kiribati, China, Uganda, Cameroon, Réunion, Greenland, Georgia, Papua New Guinea and Mongolia.
We, the Project directors, can speak to a handful of mentors who opened doors and helped to launch our respective careers. In all of our cases, that list includes John Alexander. We'd love nothing more than to follow John's lead, turn the tables, and give young, talented journalists a leg up in their burgeoning careers.
