The Dallas Morning News is looking for an investigative reporter with a passion for landing ambitious work. 
You will join a highly collaborative and accomplished investigations team that is equipped with the time, resources and support to produce powerful stories that expose abuses.
The team’s recent work has spurred new laws to improve gas pipeline safety, a DEA investigation and halted the dubious practice of hypnotizing witnesses to solve crimes.
Investigative reporting is at the core of our mission at The News, one of the best regional newsrooms in the country and the winner of nine Pulitzer Prizes. Our flagship website, dallasnews.com, attracts 8-10 million unique visitors a month.
The Investigations team works closely with our data team and across different departments in the newsroom. We strive to tell original stories that expose wrongdoing, uncover injustice and compel change.
This position offers the freedom to explore stories that are not limited to one particular subject matter, but candidates with experience in health care, data or criminal justice investigations are a plus.
The ideal candidate has a history of delivering impactful work, strong data analysis skills and a love for marrying investigative findings with narrative storytelling. You must be savvy about documents and adept at building sources. You should also be able to juggle quicker turns, mid-range and long-term pieces.

Job Requirements:

• B.A./B.S. degree
• 5 years of journalism experience
• Preferably 3 years of experience doing investigative work
• Demonstrated skills for reporting deeply and writing with authority
