Background information: 
The Community Voice is a 25-year-old independent source of news.  TCV produces a bi-weekly free-circulation newspaper, and a popular website, along with email newsletters, and events.  While based in Wichita, KS, the paper’s coverage and distribution has expanded to include four larger cities in Kansas plus the Kansas City Metro area. 
Our targeted audience is the African-American community of Kansas and the Kansas City area, which also includes parts of northwest Missouri.  Our reader’s look to us as a trusted source of news delivered to them from their perspective.  Our focus is on positive news of the community and on the issues impacting these communities.  We have a strong focus on state and local government and connect our audiences with civic life. 
We’re not always serious, we cover the social events of these communities, arts and culture and entertainment.  We also reach back and make sure we cover business, technology, health and education.
