The Austin American-Statesman is seeking a talented and experienced photojournalist to join our award-winning staff. The ideal candidate is a passionate storyteller fluent in primarily in stills, but including video and editing. We’re looking for a candidate who is capable of balancing high-end project work with deadline driven needs of the newsroom. They are collaborative with reporters, photographers, and editors and ambitious to pitch stories and see them through to publication. Job requirements:
●      Bachelor's degree in video, photography, journalism, or other similar related fields (or the equivalent combination of education and experience)
●      Three or more years' experience.
●      Demonstrated excellence as a visual storyteller
●      Demonstrated expertise in photojournalism
●      Demonstrated ability to generate and execute creative ideas and collaborate with others
●      Experience maintaining high journalistic standards and uncompromising ethics
●      Strong verbal communication skills
●      Ability to work with a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends as needed
●      Expertise with video and photo editing software including Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop
●      Strong motivation, a collaborative work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
●      Ability to work and adapt in a rapidly changing environment
●      Keen understanding of SEO and social media best practices and creative approaches to alternative web publication of visuals
●      Bilingual in Spanish a plus
