An Arm and a Leg is a podcast about the cost of health care that’s more entertaining, empowering and useful than enraging, terrifying and depressing. Our slogan: “We’re screwed, but we’re together. Let’s talk.”
The show takes inspiration from smarty-pants storytelling/explainer classics like 99 Percent Invisible and Planet Money (both of which have run our stories), and from projects that build community via intimate conversations about sometimes-difficult, personal stories — like Death Sex & Money, Terrible Thanks for Asking, and Last Day.
We’re also inspired by projects that respond to questions from the public — like WBEZ’s Curious City and its many descendents— and even solve problems, like Reply-All’s “Super Tech-Support.” So listener stories, questions and voices play a big part in lots of our episodes.
An Arm and a Leg is audio journalism as storytelling, consumer advocacy, and community- building. So, a little ambitious. There are no postings meeting the criteria you specified
