Maryland Matters, a nonprofit news website that covers Maryland government and politics, is looking to hire a full-time print reporter to cover health care, equity issues and education.
We're a relatively new operation and we function in many ways like a start-up, but we have tremendous credibility in the halls of power across Maryland, and we're competitive with the state's biggest news organizations.
We're looking for a self-starter who can work independently, turn out breaking news, and also write more in-depth stories that illuminate policy debates and social conditions in the state.
The person we hire would work full-time in Annapolis during the three-month session of the state legislature, and then would keep an eye on state and local governments, corporations, nonprofits, and other entities that work on these issues.
Please check out our website, www.marylandmatters.org, and see if we are a good fit for you.
If interested, please email a cover letter, resume, and no more than 6 clips by Dec. 18 to jobs@marylandmatters.org. NO PHONE CALLS, PLEASE
