I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
We're looking for a dynamic, highly organized assistant to help me as I run the world’s most prestigious entertainment magazine brand. The assistant will assist with day to day scheduling, travel, and meetings, do some research and pick up editorial duties as they arise. A strong interest in entertainment is a requirement, as well as a high level of organizational skill and the ability to work in a creative, fast moving environment. In addition to handling administrative projects, the candidate will take on research and fact-checking projects, and will have the opportunity to gain skills as a reporter and writer.

II. Essential Job Functions
Weight % - Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
  • 45% - Administrative support, handling calls, scheduling, meetings, travel and expenses for the Editor in Chief
  • 25% Office management, helping the broader EW team with events, meetings, and editorial support
  • 25% - Research and fact checking
  • 5% - Opportunities for writing, reporting, working events and participation in creation of EW content


III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or related field. Interest in entertainment, a desire to work in Hollywood
Experience:
  • Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize.
  • Good interpersonal skills; a sense of discretion and the ability to work with high profile individuals
  • Advanced fact checking and research skills – must be resourceful, savvy and accurate
  • Knowledge of entertainment and media; ambition and a passion for journalism
  • Proficiency with Mac, Microsoft Word, and internet.
  • Must display high degree of interest in the subject matter.
  • Able to think creatively in a fast-moving but fun environment
