Central Washington University is looking for a qualified Public Affairs Content Writer. The Public Affairs Writer position exists to create written content for all Public Affairs marketing, communication and media platforms. The position also assists in planning, managing, and implementing multifaceted marketing and communications campaigns that support the university’s mission. Reporting to the Director of Content Development (PA) this position is part of a team that works to generate news coverage of targeted CWU events and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, professional writing, public relations, communications, English, or related field
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including flexibility in writing style and tone
Strong editing and proofing skills, attention to detail
Professional experience in journalistic writing, copywriting, communications and/or marketing
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Software proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat
Ability to work effectively with internal and external clients, at all levels and with a wide variety of personalities
OR any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties
