Tenure track faculty position available August 13, 2019. The Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at New Mexico State University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor with a specialty in public relations. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in mass communication or a closely-related field and a proven record of scholarly publications. Ph.Ds. in related fields such as communication, or IMC (integrated marketing communication) with an extensive experience in public relation are accepted. Preference will be given to a candidate with an extensive professional experience in public relations, or related area, and to a candidate with an experience in the use of Social Media platforms as a means of interactive Communication. ABDs may be considered, but must have degree in hand by August 13, 2019. The successful applicant will have responsibilities in the areas of teaching, research and service to the department, university and community. The teaching load is three courses per semester.
