Bloomberg BNA seeks a Junior Editor/ Writer to research, write, edit, and update materials for reference publication(s) of assigned unit. Work typically includes routine assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Research, write, edit, and update materials for reference publication(s) of assigned unit. · May report, research, and write assigned news stories and features for publication(s) of assigned unit. · May edit material from other BNA publications for inclusion in publication(s) of assigned unit. · May edit material written by other staff members and outside authors for publication(s) of assigned unit. · Participate in production of unit's publication(s). · Develop and maintain subject area knowledge related to unit's publication(s) and maintain contacts in the government and private sector in order to obtain and verify information related to unit's publication(s). · Participate in special project and perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Previous research experience required; 6 months to one year of journalism experience preferred; demonstrated ability to research, write, and edit materials for reference publication(s) under deadline pressure; basic knowledge of journalistic principles and techniques; knowledge of federal and state legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes; accurate keyboarding skills; ability to use electronic research methods effectively; ability to use BNA publishing systems effectively with BNA training; excellent proofreading skills; College degree with coursework in English, journalism, or subjects related to assigned publication(s) or equivalent experience.
