The University of Connecticut Journalism Department invites applications for a tenure-track position in environmental journalism. The position will be at the assistant or associate professor level, depending on qualifications, beginning in Fall 2017.
The successful candidate will have strong journalism credentials, including significant publication in print, digital and/or broadcast news media concerning the environment. He or she will be expected to teach environmental journalism and other courses, advise students, publish journalism or works about journalism at a national or international level, and perform appropriate service within and outside the university. The successful candidate will welcome opportunities to work with faculty members from other departments that focus on the environment.
Minimum qualifications include a masters degree and at least 10 years of professional journalism experience, including significant publication in environmental journalism. Additional experience, a distinguished publication record and some college teaching experience is preferred.
