The Columbus Dispatch, Ohio’s No. 1 source of news about state government and politics, seeks a Public Affairs Reporter. We want someone who will dominate coverage in a competitive environment, crank out web and print dailies, and produce enterprise and watchdog stories likely to bring about change. This reporter also will play a key role in political coverage of Ohio, the nation’s bellwether state.

Ideal candidates must be self-starters who recognize good stories and jump on them. They must be good communicators; deal effectively with the public and sources involved in complex and controversial situations; thrive in a team environment; prove adept at developing sources inside and outside government. And they must possess social media and CAR skills.

We prefer a minimum of three years of experience reporting on a daily newspaper other than a college publication. We want to see a track record of excellence.
