The Pennsylvania Turnpike is operated by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and serviced by about 2,000 employees statewide to accommodate more than 194 millions vehicles that travel the system annually. The Pennsylvania Turnpike is 552 miles long and is maintained by the 27 maintenace facilities throughout the state. It is a toll road and there are 67 fare collection facilities throughout the system from East to West from Ohio to the Delaware River Bridge; North to South to West Virginia in the West, and Scranton, PA in the East.
