Make It Work, a 501(c)(3) campaign, and its 501(c)4 partner organization Make It Work Action, aim to improve women’s economic lives in the United States, to expand the organizing capacity necessary to advance women’s equality, and to update the narrative around women, work, and families. Make It Work is a three-year campaign (June 2014-June 2017). We seek to win on key policy issues, including child care, equal pay, paid sick days, paid family leave, and others, that will materially improve the lives of women, men, and families. To do this we will build significantly more organizing capacity, both online and on the ground; create a campaign reflective of 21st century realities and sensibilities—by developing new spokespeople, narratives, and using culture as an important lever for change; and develop a pipeline of leaders, particularly women of color and low-income women, that will help to ensure that the faces and voices of the women’s movement are representative of the women who are most impacted by these issues, and are representative of the diversity of American women.
