The School of Communication at The University of Akron invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor position to begin in August of 2016. We seek an educator with a critical and practical understanding of digital media, who can focus on the principles and applications in mass media, public relations, and strategic planning contexts. The successful candidate can provide instruction in strategic communication across our areas of study in courses such as Multiplatform Production, Digital and Public Relations Publications, Public Relations Strategic Campaigns, Media Writing, and Legal Issues in Media. The appointment is renewable depending on quality of instruction and performance. This is a non-tenured track position starting Fall 2016.
Qualifications: Applicants must hold an earned MA/MS degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Public Relations, Communication, or related field, and have related teaching experience. The successful candidate must be a citizen of the United States or have the necessary employment authorization certification from the federal government permitting permanent employment in the United States. Preferred candidates will have professional experience.

The University of Akron's School of Communication: The School has 18 full-time faculty and approximately 450 undergraduate students and 20 graduate students.
