Assistant Digital Producer - 735401 - EDT-Online Development

Description
Scholastic Classroom Magazines is looking for a junior web producer to support project management and asset creation in one of Scholastic’s educational publishing groups, which creates industry-defining educational magazines for teachers to use with students, grades PK-12.

Our producer team helps get things done, translating between technical and creative groups, and we’re looking for someone who wants to start a career in digital content—with a really fun slate of products. We work very closely with production, editorial, design, UX, in-house developers, and third-party vendors to create robust digital packages that support our core print products.

* Documents requirements on new builds requested from editorial stakeholders

* Helps keep teams organized and focused on task by coordinating deadlines, scheduling necessary meetings, and keeping projects contained to timeline and scope

* Systematically tracks project tasks to completion and provides status reports to team

* Helps editors create digital strategy with analytics and cross-product perspective

* Oversees biweekly and monthly production updates for magazine websites, shepherding work from production through to final QA

* Uploads assets for some magazine issue updates

* Uploads breaking news stories across different product websites

* Helps supervise metadata creation and maintenance across division

* Supports audio creation (editing, recording) for digital media

* Supports ongoing improvements to product websites

Qualifications:

* 1-3 years of experience working with digital media

* Familiar with HTML or other programming languages

* Previous working experience with digital publishing or asset management

* Interest or experience in project management strategies (Agile/Scrum)

* Must have fantastic organizational skills, clear communication, and be comfortable working with different departments and vendors

* Big plus: Knowledge of JIRA, Basecamp, Microsoft Project, or other project management tools
