The Department of Journalism of the Grady College at the University of Georgia invites applications for a non-tenure-track clinical faculty position in journalism to begin August 2016.
Academic Rank/Salary Clinical Professor with responsibilities in teaching, outreach and service. Research is not an expectation. Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary competitive.
Responsibilities A successful candidate will have the ability to teach a range of courses, including multi-platform journalism, ethics, news management and entrepreneurial journalism. A successful candidate should be positioned to further corporate partnerships and expand experiential learning opportunities through collaborations with industry. A successful candidate should be able to direct professional and academic seminars, symposia and workshops.
Qualifications A successful candidate will have a PhD, MFA or other terminal degree in a communications related field and a minimum of five years of full-time industry experience, will be widely recognized at the national level by industry leaders as a leading authority within their disciplinary practice specialty, and will show the promise of excellence and leadership in instruction and service.
