On Being nurtures common life with an intellectually hospitable, open-hearted exploration of the great questions at the center of human life: What does it mean to be human? And how do we want to live? Host Krista Tippett and her guests reach beyond the headlines to expore reflection and action amidst the social, economic, and technological shifts of 21st century life.

On Being is a new model of media as social enterprise. In 2013, the project moved to an independent foundation designed to deepen the engagement of diverse audiences and amplify the unusual social impact of this content. With an expansive multimedia presence -- and initiatives like The Civil Conversations Project and Your Audio Selfie -- On Being creates immersive experiences that stretch the boundaries of media as a force for social good.
