Equal Justice USA imagines a world where violence is rare and every community is safe and healthy.

To build that world, we must completely reimagine the idea of justice to include:

¨      Healing for everyone that hurts in the aftermath of violence — including both those who have been harmed and those who have harmed, most of whom have experienced trauma in their lives.

¨      Safety for all people in every community.

¨      Accountability that acknowledges and repairs hurt and loss instead of inflicting more of it.

 

EJUSA is building approaches to justice that challenge the idea that justice is punishment to answer these questions.

EJUSA creates change and new solutions for violence through three specific but integrated approaches:

¨      We promote a new vision for responses to violence that break cycles of trauma and are rooted in racial equity and the well-being of all who are impacted by harm.

¨      We turn that vision into action and change using decades of “chess master”-level campaign strategy experience.

¨      We organize with impacted communities to put them closer to power and resources, and amplify their voice and solutions so they can be the most effective agents for change.
