WEEKDAY MORNING METEOROLOGIST
 
WBRZ is looking for a high energy weekday morning meteorologist committed to becoming a cornerstone of our growing weather team. This meteorologist will provide a compelling, lifestyle focused on-air presentation, accurate forecasts with modern messaging and have a digital first mentality. In this position, you will broadcast every weekday from 5am – 9am as well as 12 – 1pm and also be expected to create new content on every shift for wbrz.com, the WBRZ WX mobile app. and our social media platforms.
 
Additional job responsibilities include working with the chief meteorologist to organize public outreach campaigns, communicating with the news team about high impact weather events and maintaining weather department hardware and software. Come in ready to build relationships with local schools and event planners to promote community visibility for the station. Be willing to work varying hours as high impact weather necessitates. Be open to coaching. Knowledge of south Louisiana is a plus. Applicant Requirements
-Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science
-1 to 3 years of on air experience as a Broadcast Meteorologist
-Be qualified for AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal or NWA Seal of Approval
-Familiarity with TWC Max platforms a plus
