SMC is home to undergraduate programs in Advertising, Communication, Journalism, Media Production and Studies, and Public Relations; an online master’s program in Strategic Communication; and cross-disciplinary master’s and doctoral programs in Media and Communication. The Director fosters and facilitates collaboration among the 28 faculty members in SMC, who teach, mentor, and conduct research in a broad range of theoretical and applied areas. SMC educates approximately 460 undergraduate majors and 106 graduate students in multiple modalities and settings, including the Kuhlin Center, which houses state-of the-art production, broadcast, and convergent media facilities that support all programs within the unit.
